Designed by architect W. G. Palmqvist, the Mänttä Church was inaugurated in 1928. The church is rich in art: an altarpiece by Alwar Cawén, a stained-glass window by Eric Ehrnström and 35 wooden sculptures by Hannes Autere.
The Mänttä Church was designed by the architect W. G. Palmqvist and completed in 1928. When the parish of Mänttä was separated from the parish of Vilppula in 1921, the establishment of an independent parish was made conditional on the construction of its own church. G.A. Serlachius Oy agreed to build the church at its own expense.
The altarpiece, painted by the artist Alvar Cawén, depicts Mary and the Child Jesus surrounded by sheep. The people, landscape and sheep depicted in the altarpiece are from Mänttä. The stained glass windows on either side of the altarpiece are also by Cawén.
The organ balcony features a stained glass window by the artist Eric Ehrnström. Mänttä Church also features 35 unique wood sculptures by the sculptor Hannes Autere.
In 2003 the church acquired a 30-voice organ built by J.L. van den Heuvel Orgelbouw.
