Laura Mikkola is one of the most internationally successful Finnish pianists. In the early stages of her career, Mikkola won a host of internationally renowned piano competitions and has since performed on the world's most famous concert stages and with some of the most prestigious orchestras. He returns to Mänttä after a ten-year break.
Laura Mikkola, who has a huge repertoire, is also known as a pianist deeply versed in the music of Einojuhani Rautavaara. Mikkola collaborated extensively with the master composer while he was still alive, and has recorded all of Rautavaara's piano concertos and works for solo piano.
Laura Mikkola's much-awaited Mänttä concert is dedicated to the music of Einojuhani Rautavaara.
Artistic Director of the Mänttä Music Festival Niklas Pokki introduces the concert in the Kivijärvi Hall at 14:30 (in Finnish). The concert ends approximately at 16:10.
